This is an exhibition of art by Emma Plunkett, Gareth Lister, Jessica Shepherd and another guy, at the Jardín Nazarí, Vélez de Benaudalla, Granada, Spain from May 4th till the 2nd June 2019.
The artists in this exhibition are very interesting. Jessica is an international botanical painter, traveling the world to paint specific examples of species, often inspired to do so simply by the colour of the plant. Gareth’s work is intriguing, his art is not obvious at first and grows on you, it’s usually of everyday things. He’s also an excellent curator and will be arranging the work in the exhibition. The other guy was one of the YBA (Young British Artists) along side Sarah Lucas and Damien Hirst. However, he went AWOL for 25 years, just after ditching his entire degree exhibition, just before the opening. He traveled and was painting the whole time and is only now starting to show his art. I feel like I am turning a corner in my art, thanks to some suggestions from Gareth, who has been encouraging me to loosen up. I will be showing the results in this exhibition.
You are cordially invited to the inauguration
Saturday 4th May, from 7pm
This is a rare opportunity to see larger bodies of art from 4 accomplished artists – each with a very distinct style.
Nick Fudge is a secretive artist delaying the presentation of his art history inspired art.
Jessica Shepherd is a botanical artist, publisher and botanist.
Gareth Lister is a painter of ambiguously intriguing content.
Emma Plunkett’s artwork is expressive, colourful and up-lifting.
This group of 4 artists, each originally from the UK, have come together to exhibit their art in the beautifully restored building in the Jardín Nazarí. Each artists’ work is very different and worth a closer inspection, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the inauguration and to browse the art. The artists work will be for sale and each artist is happy to talk to you about what they do and why! The opening night corresponds with the popular fiesta of La Cruces, so the town will already be in happy celebratory mode.

We have created a Facebook event page for this exhibition, so you can let us know if you are coming! Please could you help by sharing it as widely as possible via your own Facebook pages?
