El Casino
El Casino art gallery specialises in art and design and promoting art and artisanal of local and international works. The art is displayed in a room like setting, in the impressively refurbished interior of the old town casino. From October the gallery will be holding various shows and exhibitions, through to spring, with large European submissions to the international art show of The Incredible Exploding Pomegranate.
El Casino is the creation of mother and daughter team, Roberta and Georgina Gordon – Smith, both are artists. Roberta specialises in tromp l’oeil and murals and Georgina in textile design and fabric breakdown in films, which is the ageing, dying and distressing of costumes. The whole idea was to create a platform for art in Andalucia, attracting an international clientele, boosting tourism and uniting artists generally. La Conca Arts Club is the parent of El Casino and has been in existence for over 3 years. Initially based in the Valle of Lecrin and now also in the El Casino art gallery. La Conca promotes all fields of art, hosting events, art classes, artists forums and presentations, including authors and photography. You can find conceptual to traditional art, with many different styles.
