This is a review of the opening night of Mutaciones, with photos and video of this group art exhibition. Set in gallery El Casino, located in the old town of Salobreña (Calle Real 16). The space is beautiful – it’s modern, light and airy – with a shabby chic feel. The exhibition is open Thursday/Friday 3—8 pm and Saturday 11—2 and 3—8 pm. The show finishes on the 26th of October with a closing night party!

Curation

Gareth Lister has organised this group art exhibition, inviting artists whose work fitted his theme. He curated it like he was decorating a new house – placing artwork where it looks best!  Some of the pieces in the show have been seen in a few exhibitions before. However, it’s amazing how a piece of art can change, depending on the environment it’s placed in. Upstairs at El Casino has more of a domestic feel, which can help visitors to imagine what the artwork would look at in a home setting.

Photos of the art

You can see art by Ánxela Meilán, Carolyn Aigner, Deo Rajinder, Emma Plunkett, Gareth Lister, Jane Kleinschmit, Jessica Shepherd, Jesus Campra, Michael Alexander, Myriam Vela Blanca, Sandra Álvarez Muñoz, Sylvia Kruidenier and Wes Somerville.

Art for sale or rent

Please contact me if you are interested in any of the artwork and I will put you in touch with the artists. All artwork is for sale and as I say in the video, we are also happy to make arrangements if you would like to try the artwork out before buying.
