Egyptian Faience strikes again. Did you know they had angels in ancient Egypt? Not that this material and form are connected in any way. The ancient Egyptians used faience to make little blue statues. It’s like a form of glass made with a paste containing mostly quartz.

She is made from a mould and though she is not a one off piece, I do spend time finishing her off by hand because it is really tricky to work with Egyptian faience.

After making a few angels that come out of the wall, facing you, I decided to make one flying away. With her back turned, you get to see her beautiful rear. However it does look like she’s hit wall flying, whoops ha ha. I still love having her hanging in my house. This is a wall hanging piece, she can hang straight from a hook from the indent on the back of her head.
