I bought some small canvasses (a bit of retail therapy) just to make a mess and to see what would come out – little indulgence!

This little oil painting turned out to reflect my direct experience of unexpectedly meeting a huge full moon – face to face. It happened when I was driving around a mountain bend in Andalusia and then there it was, hanging low in the sky, bigger than I have ever witnessed it before. An awe-inspiring immense golden sphere suspended handsomely in the atmospheric pressure. The impact upon me was huge, and it was no surprise when it became clear that it was becoming the content of this painting.
