Description

My intention was to paint a nude in a garden. I wanted to paint the human form with flowers. However, I like the fact that there is a reason this that nude is naked because she has been swimming. I wanted to capture all her sun tan marks and create a sense of the view. The water was difficult to paint and I painted it several times before stopping at where it is now. I feel like this painting is the last nod to my formalist art school training and I just needed to accomplish this level before I could break free and loosen up my style.
