Description

This is a portrait of my beloved old cat, Čiluška. She was a bit of a character – very vocal and always up for a passing swipe! She had a sway belly and we used to call her Thunder Paws because of the loud thud she’d make when she landed from a high jump. When I was sat working at the computer, she used to prick her nails right into my thighs and clumsily scrabble her way up onto my lap. She was a great lap warmer, though she died a few years ago at the age of 13. These days, when I use a hot water bottle to warm myself, it reminds me of her warm, heavy body laying on mine. That’s why I painted her portrait directly on my old hot water bottle. She was a bit mean and totally dominated our dogs but I loved her dearly.
