Primitive Goddess Sculpture

I call her Venus of Andalusia because I made her in Andalusia. A delicate creative process went into making this primitive Goddess. I started off by creating heavily textured yet natural looking clay slabs, which I carefully shaped into the female form. Even though it seems fragile, like it’s falling apart, it’s made with strong clay bonds. It looks like a relic – like it’s just been dug up!
